The SMART™ Pumps

With the incorporation of the latest electronic techniques in the range of submersible pumps, Grindex has created a new generation of intelligent pumps — intelligent thanks to a unique built-in motor protection system: SMART™ (Surveillance of Motor And RoTation).

SMART™ provides 4-fold protection of the motor.

ROTASENSE — Thanks to Grindex ROTASENSE the pump can only work in the right direction of rotation. If the pump is connected with the wrong phase sequence, it will not start. Problems with overloading, insufficient pump capacity, and abnormal wear are eliminated.

PHASE GUARD immediately stops the pump in the event of phase failure. When the fault has been corrected, the pump restarts automatically.

TEMPERATURE GUARD — The thermo-contacts in each winding detect and stop the pump in the event of abnormal rise in temperature caused by low voltage, uneven load on the power mains, overloading of the motor, pumping of hot liquid etc.

AIR VALVE FOR DRY RUNNING opens automatically when the pump begins to "snore". The impeller functions as a fan, the air circulates and cools the motor. This enables Grindex pumps to run dry for weeks without risk of damage. Grindex is the only company that offers a warranty for dry burn.

Revolution! — In addition to the SMART™ system, all the PROLINE pumps have built-in starter boxes. Therefore, there is no need for large and heavy external starter boxes. Only one cable is necessary. Lower cost and easier handling!
